It all started when…

In the 2016-17 school year, LRA designed a two-stage rocket, Nether. This project seems to have been successful until an engine failure in January of 2017 led to the loss of the prototype. Afterwords, to the best of our knowledge the project was discontinued and all records of it’s design lost, and along with them, dreams of another two stage LRA project. Until now…

During the Summer of 2020, with all in person activities discontinued due to COVID-19, LRA began several remote design initiatives,

Among them was a new two-stage project, this time intended to compete in the SAC 10K category. Design began from scratch, with no records available of previous LRA exploits in the field, and using current LRA fabrication knowledge. This design evolved over the summer, to the point where it is now its own fully fledged project, hopefully destined for success on the SAC stage. We continue development of this design, with the goal of competing in the 2020-21 SAC competition.
